REACH ARRIVAL
Content Warnings: confusion.
Arriving on the island happens in one of two ways. Either the coalition, after receiving the lists through communication from within the haze, brought each person to the island via ship or the haze facilitated arrival. The former is simple. A coalition representative offered monetary compensation for assistance on the Reach or some other means of incentive, belongings were packed, and the appropriate transportation was provided. Reachers, a term given to the listed, are brought into the coalition camp and left in a small processing room. The latter arrive in an unexplainable way. A burst of colored mist swells up on the edge of camp and when it dissipates, varying numbers of people are found unconscious. Physicians revive them and they too are brought into the same processing room. Both means of arrival are different but they have one thing in common - everyone's name was on one of the lists.
Reachers are given time to speak with one another before they are taken, as a group, down a long corridor and into a large open room. Each Reacher is led to a gurney where they undergo a serious of standard tests; height, weight, blood samples, vision and motor function capabilities. It's quickly discovered that some have already experienced side effects, those on the second list who arrived through the haze, but they are not held back for further study. It's made clear that all Reachers are treated the same and allowed the same freedoms. When testing has finished, a tower guide arrives to escort everyone to their new home - the Tower.
Each character to arrive through the haze will either suffer from one of the following and the effects last from three to five days. Players may choose which their character will have to endure for that time. Altered perception of directions: characters will be easily confused by which way is left and which is right, as well as north, south, east, and west. Muted response time: characters will respond to everything at half the rate they normally would; this can be when answering someone else's question, stepping out of the way of something hurtling towards their head, etc.

AN EYE FOR AN EYE
Content Warnings: body horror
It's time for a coalition mandated expedition. Exploration of the haze is an important part of coming to understand it and coalition scientists need Reachers to collect data and study where the haze does not allow them to go. Expedition participation is mandatory, though the coalition and towerguides will not force Reachers to do more than they feel they are capable of doing. As long as everyone does their share then the guidelines will remain lax. Expeditions have three stages. Planning, preparation, and action - assist in one or more.
Planning entails sketching out multiple drafts of the trip using the maps provided of the Reach, as well as approaching other Reachers to discern their skill level. This will allow for a better expedition if everyone is utilized properly. Preparation requires packing of supplies into backpacks and any other portable transportation device that can be built; vehicles do not work and most equipment malfunctions. Be creative.
The expedition stage starts after the first two have been completed and will take Reachers to a building on the edge of the haze. There will be no tower guides or coalition members on the trip, they fall ill too far inland, so documenting experiences is a must. This building is crudely fashioned, though the material appears to be concrete or cement. There is an opening at the front that stands about four feet tall and is the only way in or out. Those that venture inside will discover a large barren room with a moss-like growth on the back wall - vines and branches fuse together in a design that can only be described as oddly humanesque. Following the guidelines for an expedition, characters may attempt to sketch, photograph, or safely seal samples to take back with them.
If, for any reason, a character touches any of the growth on the wall, they will feel a sharp sting in their fingertips that will travel up their wrist and numb their entire arm. The numbness will fade within an hour but in its place will come a dull ache. This ache will remain a constant until night falls, where it will shift and migrate between light and moderate pain. If left untreated, characters will begin to experience hallucinations where it seems as if every plant, tree, and flower has sprouted eyes and is watching them. Those that do not go back to camp will begin to alter in much the same way as what was seen inside the building on the wall. Only the coalition scientists can do anything to help. Will you make it back in time?
